We are Silky U

We are Tatiana and Joseph, the founders of Silky U. We live in Black Rock, a charming and peaceful bayside suburb of Melbourne.

We enjoy long coastal walks, going out, a nice glass of Pinot by the fireplace, delicious food, good reading and much more.

But most of all we enjoy each other's company. We've been together for over 18 years and still can talk all day, every day.

We first fell in love with Mulberry silk after buying a quilt during a trip to Europe in 2015. It has made such a difference to our sleep and helped us finally solve a problem we have had since night one of our relationship - finding a duvet which would suit both of us - one likes to be warm, the other prefers to be cool.

In February 2022, we finally got ourselves a king sized bed, something that we've been planning to do for years. This also meant we needed to find a king sized quilt. After using ours for years, we were hunting for a similar, high quality silk doona, but couldn't find one. Sure, there is some decent bedding in the Australian market, but nowhere near the quality we were after.

And that's pretty much how Silky U was born. We've spent months talking to many suppliers and screening them. We ended up ordering samples from 5 different manufacturers (everyone claimed to be the best...) to compare the quality. And, voilâ, we found exactly what we were looking for.
